Trivia[]
- Ave Caesar / Imperator, morituri te salutant, is a famous phrase which gladiators might have said before fighting in the arena. It means: Hail Caesar / Emperor, those who are about to die, salute you. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ave_Imperator,_morituri_te_salutant
- This quest is likely to be inspired by an escape of gladiators in Capua which led to the Third Servile War, with the gladiators being led by Spartacus, the most famous leaders of the servi/gladiator groups. This happened in the same year as the start of the Third Mithridatic War. This war lasted two years, before the rebellion was put down by the legions led by Marcus Licinius Crassus. The remark from Damianos about this genius plan after being captured, that it could have serious adverse effect which might result in people getting killed, is another reference to this war.https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gladiator#Schools_and_training and https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Third_Servile_War
