Hunters are one of the five Spanish classes in Expeditions: Conquistador. They share the position of best ranged units available with trappers due to their ranged accuracy of 80% from the start and they get 4% every time they are promoted. But other classes can still deal the same amount of damage with the same type of ranged weapon.

In melee combat, hunters are far less skilled compared to ranged combat due to low base damage and their knive as melee weapon. When it comes to defence, hunters have the same base defenses as scouts.

When it comes to camping, they can only master the task of hunting if the unit is limited to veteran rank or they can get an 8 in guarding, patrolling or tinkering.

Passive skills advice[]

Depending on your needs in combat, it's adviced to either pick the following passive skills.

Point blank hunter[]

In case a point blank unit is desired, the passive skill keen eye and point blank should be selected. Keen Eye lowers the defense bonus of the unit a bit, which results in overall higher damage, while not increasing maximum damage. Since bows and arquebuses both have the same critical hit multiplier, but the latter has higher damage, this set of passive skill are more recommended to hunters with arquebuses.

Keen eye can also be traded for bloodlust if the unit will be used to finish off other units and if the highest rank is veteran.

Allround hunter[]

In case a hunter is needed to who can perform quite well in ranged and melee combat, the passive skill Walk your shots and the weapon skill pole-arm should be chosen if limited to veteran rank.
