Escaped Slaves is a side goal which can be started by finding the escaped slaves in the jungles southeast of Tenochtitlan, close to a watering hole. When the expedition crosses paths with the slaves, the option to confront them should be selected. Then the expedition finds that they are escaped with their captors not far behind. The expedition can then decide to either help the slaves by killing the pursuers or helping the slavers by recapturing them.
Aiding the slaves[]
By aiding the slaves, the player has to kill the pursuers. This is group of six, which consists of one champion, two trappers and three warriors. The player has time to prepare items, can determine battle positions and has the first turn. Of the trappers is cut off from the rest and should be forced to fight in melee combat.
